CALIFORNIA – A tiny kitten who was trapped on the movable median of the Golden Gate Bridge was luckily rescued last Saturday afternoon by California Highway Patrol officers, CHP Marin posted on Facebook.

The cat was first noticed around 2:50 p.m. Unable to find him on the first pass, CHP officers did find him the second time around near the south tower. They proceeded to block a lane of traffic.

One officer, who has been identified in the post as Officer Smith, decided to bring the animal to the VCA Madera Pet Hospital in Corte Madera. In addition, Smith has decided to take temporary care of the kitty, who has since been dubbed, ‘Bridges’.

The animal hospital gave Bridges a full examination and a nice warm bath, and didn’t even charge Smith for the services, NBC Bay Area reported.

“No collar and no microchip made it impossible for us to locate an owner, so Officer Smith told them he would foster the little guy and nurse him back to health,” CHP Marin commented on Facebook.

“If you happened to lose your little cat in the middle of the Golden Gate Bridge today, please give us a call or send us a message,” the post concludes.
