The Hanoi Dog and Cat Rescue Station, the unit that received the case and provided assistance, stated that instead of requiring doctors to feed and administer fluids, the cat is now able to eat on its own and even actively request food.

The burns on the ears and soles of the feet are no longer oozing fluid, and many areas have healed and peeled off dry scales. However, the foot pads are still swollen and red, and have not fully healed.
The lower abdomen and thighs, which suffered the most severe burns, are still oozing pus and show no signs of skin structure recovery. Therefore, Dilo has to lean his body to one side if he wants to sit.
“According to the veterinarian, Dilo’s abdomen is suffering from third-degree burns, causing severe destruction of the skin structure. Therefore, even though Dilo was given the same burn medicine from the Traditional Medicine Institute, the ears healed faster than the abdomen. Fortunately, the wounds show no signs of invasive necrosis,” the station representative shared with Zing.
The station stated that Dilo’s wounds are cleaned twice a day. Despite the pain, the cat cooperates well with the treatment. Currently, the rescue station is focusing on providing a nutritious diet for Dilo.
“We are still actively searching for a suitable burn medicine that fits Dilo’s body. This will be a long-term treatment process, which may take months or even years,” the representative said. When Dilo’s health condition improves, they will find a new owner for him.
The wounds on Dilo’s lower abdomen have not fully healed. This is also the most severely burnt part of his body.

Dilo’s long fur was singed and covered in oil, so the veterinarian shaved it clean. The most severe burns were on his two ears and four paws. The cat also suffered from severe psychological trauma and refused to eat, requiring doctors to feed and administer fluids.
After the incident, the owner of the cat contacted the rescue station, requesting to take back their pet. However, the rescue station declined the request to ensure the safety of the cat and avoid future troubles.
