Valinda Cortez was heading to a shop in North Carolina when she chanced upon a dog living in terrible conditions. The poor dog looked defeated and hopeless with her drenched face from the pouring rain.
Upon stepping out of her vehicle, Valinda’s heart sank as she noticed the small dog sitting in the rain and cold. It was evident that the little pup had been abandoned and left to fend for herself. Without hesitation, Valinda knew she needed to help the poor creature. She approached the dog slowly, wrapped her in a blanket to provide warmth, and stayed by her side for over an hour in order to gain her trust.
Once the little dog was all set to be rescued, Valinda gave her friend Sue Massi a call. Sue is an expert in rescuing abandoned pets within the city and arrived promptly within 20 minutes to collect the pup and bring it to a safe shelter.
Valinda expressed her disappointment in people, but I am confident that with my love, a cozy blanket, and nourishing meals, she will recover her trust in humankind.
Cassie, the pup, has got such a joyful expression on her face. It truly captures her essence and it’s just heartwarming to see her like this. It really puts a smile on my face and lifts my spirits up as well.
