Emma Roo’s owner abandoned her when she was a tiny Dalmatian puppy because of a small physical flaw on one of her toes. She then encountered dog meat sellers in China in an instant. The men working in the slaughterhouse had her ears, tail, and front legs cropped by the time she was 8 weeks old. According to ilovemydogsomuch, they were about to butcher her when a rescue organization intervened and whisked her away.
Emma’s front legs had been severed without anaesthetic, causing her to suffer in agonizing trauma. Making dogs experience “pain” during slaughter is an abhorrent local custom because the ensuing “adrenaline makes the meat more tender.”
Emma slowly recovered from her experience at the meat market, but the rescuers were aware that no one in China would ever adopt a dog with only two legs. At that point, they contacted Dalmatian Rescue of South Florida and asked them to assist this helpless girl.
After much effort, Emma was finally prepared to depart for abroad with a renewed outlook on life. She arrived in the US just before the coronavirus pandemic caused all international travel to be stopped. Happy girl!
Emma quickly found her forever home with Misha Rackcliff Hunt, a resident of South Carolina, after arriving. Emma was for Misha like the soul mate she was intended to meet. Therefore, even though the abused dog would be wary and timid around everyone, she instantly felt at ease with her new mother!
Emma’s constant screaming and panic attacks were brought on by the mere fact that men made her think of the slaughterhouse workers, as Misha noticed. Misha hired a male doggie therapist to allay Emma’s fears, and he helped her feel at ease around everyone!
After some time, Emma has finally developed into a loving and outgoing dog. Her limbs have become more strong and flexible with consistent therapy, and she can now use a wheelchair without any discomfort!
Many people believe that dogs like Emma should be put to sleep. However, this little marvel’s contagious smiles show that she is a blessing rather than a burden. She is a true inspiration for downtrodden people looking for a better life, as well as a global icon for dog meat trade and disability survivors!
