According to local resident Kaushal Lahiri from Nourozabad, the legendary Nogotal Kund and its surrounding lakes were once frequented by various types of Nagas. These snakes would roam freely, leaving a sense of awe and fear in neighboring villages. It was believed that specific rituals and offerings could appease these serpents. Many individuals, driven by the desire to acquire Nagmani, visited this place, engaging in spiritual practices. However, encountering a group of serpents would often send them running in fear. Remarkably, the serpents coexisted peacefully without causing harm to anyone.

Vedic literature, particularly the renowned Vrihatsamhita, contains references to Nagmani, making its existence undeniable. Nagmani is believed to be a special gem found specifically in snakes. The gem is characterized by its deep black color and is said to be located on the head of the Nagas.
